1. What this site is
BreedVerified is a free, informational site with breed-specific guides for dogs and cats, checked against veterinary and official breed-registry sources. It is not a veterinary practice, a breeder, a rescue, or an agent of the American Kennel Club (AKC) or The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA), and it does not sell or place animals.
2. Not veterinary advice
This site is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for guidance from a licensed veterinarian. Nothing on this site diagnoses, treats, or provides individualized medical advice for any animal. Every dog and cat is different, and a breed's typical health risks, described here from published veterinary research and registry data, do not predict what will happen to any specific animal. If your pet is sick, injured, or you have any concern about its health, contact a licensed veterinarian directly, not this site.
3. Editorial verification, not guarantees
Every claim on a breed page is checked against a named source, generally the AKC's or CFA's own breed page, plus at least one peer-reviewed study or veterinary health registry. That verification describes what has been published, not a promise about your own animal's temperament, health, or behavior. Sources change; if a figure here goes out of date, tell us.
4. Affiliate relationships
As of the date at the top of this page, BreedVerified has one active affiliate relationship, with Neakasa: specific product recommendations on breed pages, each labeled "Affiliate link," earn a commission on qualifying purchases. No other link on this site is part of an affiliate program. See the full affiliate disclosure for detail. If this changes further, this page and the disclosure page will be updated at the same time.
5. Third-party trademarks
American Kennel Club, AKC, The Cat Fanciers' Association and CFA are the trademarks of their respective organizations. They are named here for identification and honest sourcing, not because BreedVerified is affiliated with, endorsed by, or a representative of either organization. Each breed page states this independence directly.
6. Third-party sites
Links to the AKC, CFA, AVMA, ASPCA, peer-reviewed journals and veterinary research leave this site, and we do not control what is on the other side. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any external site.
7. Ebooks sold through Gumroad
Any ebook offered through our Shop is sold and delivered entirely through Gumroad. That transaction is between you and Gumroad, under Gumroad's own terms and payment processing, not this site's.
Refunds. No refunds. All sales are final.
Because an ebook is a digital product delivered by instant download, we are unable to offer refunds once the file has been sent. There is no way to "return" a PDF the way you would a physical item.
If you have a technical problem (the file will not download, arrives corrupted, or you did not receive your download link), contact us at hello@breedverified.com and we will help you get a working copy of the file. Technical help does not include a refund.
8. Availability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every page is complete or current at every moment; this site is new and actively being built.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BreedVerified is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or a decision made using it, including any decision about acquiring, caring for, or treating an animal. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Your use of the site
You may read, use and share this site freely, including linking to it. You may not scrape it at volume, republish its content as your own, or use it in a way that damages the site or misleads others about who produced it.
11. Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
